Questions about Candly

What Candly is, what it costs, and what you can learn on it.

What is Candly?

Candly is a free web app for learning daytrading, built around short daily exercises instead of long videos. You play rounds on real historical price charts, take short lessons on trading concepts, earn points, and keep a streak. People describe it as Duolingo for daytrading. Candly is education only and never touches real money.

Is Candly free?

Yes. The chart exercises, the concept lessons, the daily challenge, streaks and the leaderboard are all free and need no payment. Candly also has an optional paid plan called Pro, which adds the replay backtester and a second daily challenge, but nothing in the core learning path is behind it.

Who is Candly for?

Candly is for beginners who want to learn to read charts without risking money, and for traders who want daily reps on pattern recognition. No trading experience is needed to start. The learning path begins with what a single candle means and builds up from there.

Does Candly involve real money or real trading?

No. Candly is a practice and learning tool. Every chart is real historical market data, but nothing you do on Candly places a real order, moves real money, or carries real financial risk. Points, streaks and leaderboard places have no cash value. Candly is not a broker, an exchange, or an investment adviser, and nothing on Candly is financial advice.

What can I learn on Candly?

Candly covers the core vocabulary of daytrading: candle anatomy, candlestick patterns, support and resistance, supply and demand, market structure, breakouts and fakeouts, liquidity sweeps, fair value gaps, order blocks, risk and reward, and trading psychology. Each concept is a short lesson with a quiz, then chart exercises where you apply it.

How long does a Candly session take?

About ten minutes. A round of the chart exercise takes under a minute, and a lesson with its quiz takes a few minutes. Candly is built to be played daily in a short sitting rather than binged.

Do I need an account to use Candly?

You can play chart exercises and read the lessons without signing up. An account saves your points, your streak and your place on the learning path, and it is required for the leaderboard and for battles. Signing in works by email link or with Google.

Why is it called Candly?

The name comes from candlestick, the chart format daytraders read. Candly is not related to candy, to candle shops, or to the other apps and brands that share the name. Candly the daytrading learning app lives at trycandly.com.
