These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Candly (the "Service"), operated by Candly ("Candly", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Candly is an educational app that teaches daytrading concepts through short lessons and gamified exercises played against real historical market data. Candly is a learning tool only.
Candly is not a broker, exchange, investment adviser, or financial institution. Nothing on Candly is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and nothing on Candly is or involves real trading, real money, or real financial risk. Points, streaks, and leaderboard rankings have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other consideration.
Trading real financial instruments carries risk, including the risk of losing money. Any decision you make about real trading or investing, informed in part by what you learned on Candly, is made entirely at your own discretion and risk. Past performance shown in historical chart exercises is not indicative of future results.
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Candly account. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use Candly with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You can browse and play a limited set of exercises without an account. To save your progress, points, and streak, and to open lessons, you need an account, created by email magic link or by signing in with Google.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
Candly's lessons, exercise design, branding, mascot, and underlying software are owned by Candly or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own learning, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from Candly's content without our written permission.
Historical price data used in exercises is sourced from third-party public market data providers and belongs to those providers; it is used here for educational illustration only.
Candly relies on third-party services to operate, including authentication and database hosting (Supabase), Google Sign-In, product analytics (PostHog), and public market data providers. Your use of Candly is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is shared with them and why.
Candly has a free tier and a paid Premium subscription. Premium starts with a 3-day free trial that requires a card; after the trial it is $14.99/month or $49.99/year, and you can cancel anytime. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor (see our Privacy Policy).
We may change the Premium offer or add other tiers in the future. Any early-access commitments we've made publicly (such as grandfathered access) will be honored as stated at the time — none have been made so far. Nothing here obligates us to keep any specific feature free forever.
You may stop using Candly and request deletion of your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service, or parts of it, at our discretion, with reasonable notice where practical.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that exercise scoring or historical data is free of mistakes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Candly will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any real-world trading or investment decisions you make. This includes losses arising from reliance on the Service's educational content, which is provided for learning purposes only and is not investment advice.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, in-app or by email) before they take effect. Continuing to use Candly after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
